The BELTON tube socket feels solidly made, with good dimensional tolerances and a pleasant overall finish. It provides a firm and secure grip on the tube pins.
While the socket is mostly hidden beneath the tube, a small portion of its edges remains visible. The polymer body has a soft, understated color that avoids the sometimes unnecessary contrast of bright white, black, or dark brown sockets against a metal chassis.
BELTON offers the same socket type in variants suitable for mounting either below or above the chassis. I see this as a thoughtful design choice, as in some cases allowing the metal retaining ring to remain visible can be important from a design perspective.
